A local and international move – and storage
In 2013 the Hammond family of four, and their two dogs, moved close to Witney in Oxfordshire, just six miles from where they had been living in Charlbury. They had already moved many times in the past and had varying experiences of using different removals companies. When Mrs Hammond had a move date confirmed for this particular move, she began researching local removals companies, requesting quotes and speaking to various contacts.
Having spoken to Mrs Hammond on the telephone House & Carriage went to visit her at her house in Charlbury. They discovered that the family had a number of requirements:

“My main concern with any house move is that something will get damaged or broken,” says Mrs Hammond. “Yet all our items arrived intact – to both houses.” The family even entrusted the House & Carriage team with the keys to the house abroad, so they were free to move house and settle in without travelling overseas themselves.
An emergency house move for an elderly lady
One year later in 2014 Mrs Hammond called on the services of House & Carriage once again. Her 85-year old mother-in-law needed to move from Yorkshire to be closer to her family, within just two weeks. At short notice House & Carriage were able to organise the move. They transported her belongings down to a new flat and also placed some items in their storage facilities. Two months later they moved the items that were in storage into the new flat so owner and items were reunited!
According to Mrs Hammond: “The new flat was on the first floor and it was a challenge for the House & Carriage team to get some of the larger items up the stairs. They did a great job, and they were fantastic with my mother-in-law who found the situation very stressful at the time. They couldn’t have been nicer with her.”
